About the Project

This project focuses on training early childhood education (ECE) teachers to use inclusive practices, encourage positive behaviour, and make learning more engaging through play-based methods. The goal is to support the development of 500 children, including children with disabilities, at 10 government-run early childhood centres in Greater Accra, Ghana. By enhancing teacher skills and involving parents, the project ensures children have the best chance to learn and thrive.

Goals and Objectives

Improve learning and participation for 500 children, including children with disabilities, in 10 government ECE centres.

Train 50 teachers in methods that support inclusive education, encourage positive behaviour, and use play as a tool for learning.

Educate 200 parents and caregivers about inclusive education, disabilities, and early childhood development.

Our impact so far

We have improved learning outcomes for 500 kindergarten children (51% of whom are girls) by screening them for early signs of disabilities and special educational needs.

We have built the capacity of 50 teachers in inclusive education, play-based teaching methods, and positive behaviour management.

We have sensitised 200 parents and caregivers on inclusive education, disabilities, and early childhood development (ECE).
