Hope for Children, Chance for Childhood

Why is the project needed?

Children impacted by HIV/AIDS in Sri Lanka often come from extremely deprived families and communities. Many of these children have lost one or both parents and are being cared for by elderly relatives who are unable to provide stable income. The Lanka Plus Living Positively Programme helps these vulnerable children by addressing their most urgent health and educational needs, fostering long-term development and opportunities for a brighter future.

About the Project

The Lanka Plus Living Positively Programme has been running for 11 years, supporting 120 families of people living with HIV/AIDS. The project provides bursaries to children impacted by HIV/AIDS to support their health, nutrition, and education needs, offering them a chance for a healthy and happy childhood. The programme also supplements family income to help them afford a healthy diet and meet other essential needs.

Goals and Objectives

Provide bursaries to 120 children from families affected by HIV/AIDS to support their health, nutrition, and education.

Supplement income for families, helping them maintain a healthy diet and afford basic family needs.

Enable children to successfully complete their education and pursue further employment or tertiary/vocational studies.

Our impact so far

120 children and their families have received financial support, improving their quality of life.

Children supported by the programme have successfully completed their education and pursued employment or vocational training, breaking the cycle of poverty.
