Without access to services that meet their needs, marginalised groups in society are suffering disproportionately. Many children now find themselves lacking a safe space to live or access to basic needs.
For street connected children in Mombasa, Kenya, their normal methods of survival have been taken away. Under lockdown there is no one to beg from or cars to park and wash to earn money. Many children are going hungry. One boy told our partner “We the poor, we are battling two wars. Hunger and Coronavirus. Hunger has always been there, but we have never won. Coronavirus has just come in. We are not yet sure if we will overcome it.”
By giving this gift you could ensure that a street-connected child doesn’t go hungry and can stay protected. It could fund a meal, a face mask and information on how to keep safe – distributed by an outreach team who are out on the streets every day of the week.
This gift will go towards our COVID-19 Response Fund
