Chance for Childhood is an award-winning charity working in Africa to support the most vulnerable children, such as street children, disabled children, children affected by conflict and kids behind bars. We are currently looking for two new Trustees to join our Board. Our Trustees play a central role in setting the strategic direction of our organisation, as well as holding management to account to ensure we deliver our strategy effectively.
Chance for Childhood welcomes applicants with the following range of skills and experience including:
International development in one of our countries of focus: ideally someone who has prior knowledge of working with children, inclusive education, early childhood development or the justice sector.
Human Resources: we welcome individuals with a background in HR or organisational development, ideally with experience of HR strategy and policy development to support our growing staff team.
Communications and marketing: we would welcome applicants with extensive experience in the development of communications strategies, digital marketing and media to help support a new and exciting phase of developing and strengthening our charity brand and marketing.
Social Impact Investment: we would welcome any applicants with experience in awarding, supporting or developing social impact investment. This could be experience as either a champion for the social investment market or as an investor, providing capital to social impact investment.

Trustees are required to attend quarterly Board meetings in Central London, and an annual Board Away Day. They may also be asked to join one or more of the Board’s subcommittees, which requires an additional time commitment, and may be asked to undertake overseas travel on behalf of Chance for Childhood.
While this role is not remunerated, Trustees will receive reimbursement for reasonable expenses incurred during work on behalf of Chance for Childhood.
