Chance for Childhood are excited to extend their existing partnership with Entain through their Ennovate Hub! We will be working with technologists at the Ennovate Hub on an innovative mobile app that digitises and builds on Chance for Childhood’s ground-breaking approach to detect hidden disabilities and development delays amongst pre-school children in Africa. This exciting product will change the education landscape by providing a revolutionary assistive solution for thousands of children who are out of school or have poor learning outcomes.
Using artificial intelligence Entain will adapt Chance for Childhood’s innovative disability screening toolkit into a mobile app to drive personalised and play-based learning for children with disabilities and Special Education Needs (SEN). All children learn differently, this app will understand the plethora of learning styles between children, especially those with SEN, through anytime and anywhere screening and individualised learning plans. It will also specifically help out of school children who often face challenges brought about by abuse and trauma.
The initial focus of the app will be on pre-school children as numerous studies have demonstrated the critical importance of the first 1,000 days of a child’s life, it is the time that the brain grows fastest and is most responsive to the outside world. The support and care children receive at this critical age affects their chances of survival and productivity in adulthood. This is even more critical for children living and working in vulnerable situations and low-income settings, who suffer from undernutrition, poor psychosocial stimulation as well as a number of social issues.
“Chance for Childhood are thrilled to be partnering with Entain on the launch of this exciting new product. We believe that technology can provide radical new solutions for Africa’s most marginalised children. We are delighted to benefit from the experts within the Ennovate Hub who lead the way on the development of cutting edge technology, this time to support extremely vulnerable children to access education and be the best that they can be”
Anna-mai Andrews, co-ceo of chance for childhood
This transformative technology heralds a radical new approach to supporting the complex challenges faced by millions of children who are being excluded from education and are unable to reach their potential. Through this partnership, Entain are helping to create a deep and long-lasting legacy of positive impact for the most marginalised children.
