December for us is always a good month to both celebrate and reflect among all of the work that we have done throughout the year. This year we were lucky enough to host two final fundraising events and enjoy the Christmas spirit with our Chance for Childhood family and friends.
On Sunday the 7th, three supporters—Malene, Melanie, and Rebecca—ran for us in the annual Santa Fun Run at Victoria Park in London. While it might have been unusual and a challenge to complete a 5 and 10K race in a Santa suit, all three finished in excellent time and each raised at least £100 for our work. We are extremely thankful for their support!

As a last fundraising and celebratory event of the year, we hosted a Christmas Bake-off at St. Mary’s Church in Guildford (inspired by the Great British Bake-of, of course!). We had quite a selection of cakes and biscuits and were delighted to see many of our long-term as well as first-time supporters at the event. The winner of the bake-off was a 7 year-old boy who baked some outstanding Black Forest Brownies! Watch out Jamie Oliver!

Many thanks to all of our supporters throughout 2014 for transforming children’s lives. Please look out for our impact page soon to launch which will demonstrate how year on year we are more efficient, more effective and reaching more children than ever before. We may be a small charity but we have a BIG impact. Thanks for believing in us and all the children in our care.
From everyone at Chance for Childhood, we wish you a very Happy Christmas and a Happy New Year!
