Chance for Childhood have partnered with Frugi on their Little Clothes, BIG Change campaign since 2018. Funds raised through the partnership directly support the Kinbu nursery in Accra, Ghana where we work with our partner Street Girls Aid. The nursery provides a safe, loving environment and pre-school education to children aged 0 to 6, who are children of street girls and vulnerable young women, all living and working in neighbouring street communities.

Helene Weston, Consumer Marketing Co-ordinator, talks about the partnership and what has made it so successful:
“The main objective of Frugi’s Little clothes BIG change charity project was to support charities who are making a positive difference to the lives of little ones. Our charity committee all felt that Chance for Childhood ticked that box and many others.
We loved that they work so closely with the Kinbu nursery in Ghana and the fact that we can see the tangible difference our donations are having. We absolutely feel that our partnership goals have been achieved, and we’ve had a lot of fun along the way!
Frugi are all about embracing childhood, having fun and letting ‘kids be kids’. Our customers love the fact that by buying Frugi clothing they are helping vulnerable and underprivileged children to have the education and future they deserve.
Last year we rolled out ‘Festive Frugi Fika’ events around the UK, encouraging our customers to get together for cake and a cuppa and to raise money the children of Kinbu nursery to have a Christmas party. The events were a great success and Frugi customers really championed the campaign and enjoyed taking part and organising the events. We also held a Frugi Fika for staff at HQ, with mountains of cake and gallons of tea, …well it would be rude not to!

Afterwards Chance for Childhood sent us a video of the children having Christmas party at Kinbu and it put a huge smile on our faces, to see the children having fun and enjoying themselves was such a great feeling.
Frugi staff are really chuffed to be able to support such a fantastic charity, we’ve all loved getting involved. So much so that two Frugi staff members are running the London Marathon for Chance for childhood this year, go Frugi!”
A big thank you to Frugi who have so far raised over £66,000 for the Kinbu nursery, helping to tackle the root causes of poverty in Accra which will benefit generations of children to come.
