Our patron Milton Jones recently recorded a BBC Radio 4 Appeal on behalf of Chance for Childhood. The appeal will be broadcast on Sunday Oct 4th and be repeated during that week.
Milton visited our work in Patongo, northern Uganda last year and in the appeal he draws upon his experiences there to talk about the plight of the children who were abducted as child soldiers and sex slaves by Joseph Kony’s infamous Lord’s Resistance Army nearly a decade ago. The young people who survived and returned face a new struggle as they try to rebuild their lives.

Thanks to your support, Chance for Childhood is helping them to come to terms with the trauma they experienced and the atrocities they were forced to commit, often against members of their own family and community. We’re also helping give them the education and vocational skills that were robbed from them when they were abducted from their homes and schools.
The appeal will be available to listen to on the BBC iPlayer from Oct 4th.
