Thank you for being part of our team of champions and for raising vital funds to support children in some of the most vulnerable situations in Africa!
Whether you want to hold big or small fundraising events, we’re here every step of the way to support you!
Below are some tips on how to make the most of your fundraising and to help you reach your £1,500 target.
- Ace your fundraising page!
Let people know why you are running for Chance for Childhood, upload a photo of yourself, upload the logs of your training runs. Keep your page updated regularly and keep sharing it! - Organise a Raffle or Quiz Night.
Charge entrance fees for a quiz night and get some low cost prizes. Ask a local business to provide prizes and sponsor you. Guess the name of the bear, Guess my finish time, auction off a signed football shirt. - Add a QR to your fundraising.
linking to your Just Giving page to your social media posts, collection buckets, bake sales etc.
You can get the QR code for your JustGiving page by going to your page and adding ‘/qrcode’ to the end of the URL.
For example, if my page is www.justgiving.com/fundraising/MrsFundraiser add the /qrcode at the end and click enter.
Your QR code will then pop up, you can screenshot this on your phone or computer to make sure you always have to hand! - Split your fundraising into chunks.
26 miles divided by £1500 = £57.69. You could sell a mile for £58 or if for example you are at £1000 you could say “I have reached 18 miles, can you help get me to 20 miles?” - Get sponsorship for a landmark on your vest or on social media.
You can add your sponsor’s name to the back of your vest (a local print shop should be able to do this for you), or mention the person on your social media or fundraising page. Landmarks include Canary Wharf, Cutty Sark, Tower of London, Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace…the Finish Line! - Ask people for a set amount – if you don’t ask you don’t get!
Do you know people that can give £100? £50? Giving people a set amount will help them see what you need left to raise. For anyone else you could leave the amount blank.
