Make a real difference this Mother’s Day and get a free gift
No matter where in the world, mums always amase us. They are strong, resilient, generous, and even in the most difficult situations, their love always shines through.
For mothers and children in the Kyaka II refugee camp life is extremely diffcult and their resilience and strength is tested every day, mother’s like Marie who fled the DRC with her children after suffering extreme violence and abuse. She is now trying to support her family by selling beaded necklaces and bracelets.
Your £12 could help women like Marie attend counselling sessions to over come the trauma they have experienced. You can help break down the financial barriers to education and provide school supplies, menstrual hygiene products, and small business grants to families in need. Not only will you be making a meaningful impact, but you will also receive a free unique necklace made from recycled newspaper by a young mother in Uganda like Marie.
Your free gift
In return for your generosity, we’ll send you a beautiful necklace handmade using recycled newspaper, with care by a young mother in Uganda.
“We also do tailoring and beadwork to earn some extra money, which helps me to look after my five children’s needs. My earnings aren’t much, but I can use them to improve our circumstances a little bit.” Marie, mother at Kyaka II refugee camp
Let’s come together to fight for every child’s right to education and a better future.

Your impact
Together with our partner AWAD we are on the ground at the Kyaka II Refugee camp in Uganda, supporting children with educational supplies like books and pencils. In the first year of running the program we have supported 1320 children in the refugee camp to stay in school and given 100 girls menstrual hygiene packs. Your £12 will enable us to help more children and provide more girls with menstrual hygiene packs keeping them in school and giving them the education they deserve.
“Without the programme we would have been married by now because we lacked some of the basic materials, we needed in our life like the ones we have received today from AWYAD. It was very difficult for us to acquire these items since most of our parents couldn’t afford them and thus making us engage in bad coping strategies to acquire them. This was even leading some of us to drop out of school. However, since we received the items, we are now more determined to break out of the cycle of poverty our families are currently facing. ” A young girl in Kyaka II Refugee camp
